CHARACTER
Name: Lucifer
Canon: Lucifer, the Morning Star, Satan, the Devil
Timeline: Episode 5x22 Swan Song, wherein Lucifer has taken Sam as his vessel and fallen back into the Cage.
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: N/A

Personality: Lucifer was the second Archangel to be brought into creation, the younger brother of Michael and older brother to Raphael and Gabriel. He was God’s favorite celestial and said to have been the most beautiful of all the angels- perfect in every way to have been a constant to His presence. He loved their Father with his entire being, willing to go to great lengths for him- but that was when things turned sour. Lucifer became prideful of his looks and overall perfection that he had been graced with. When God showed his children his new creation on earth, the humans, they became the favorite and the angels were commanded to bow to them. Lucifer, hurt by his sudden change in status and jealous to these new, imperfect beings, would not obey. Because of his rebellion against God, he was cast out and stripped of his beauty, his position, and his right into Heaven. He waged war against their Father, but was banished to Hell by Michael.

Being cast out of his home, Lucifer became enraged, so he tempted and twisted a human soul, creating Lilith, the first demon. Because of this, he was cast even further into Hell, put in the Cage where he resided for over a millennia. During his captivity, his ultimate goal was to break free from the Cage and restore earth to its previous state- ‘untainted’ before the birth of God’s new favorite. When he was released from Hell, his presence was signaled by a series of tornadoes and tsunamis, which a Higher power chose to pull Sam and Dean Winchester out of. Because of this, he is unable to lay claim to his true vessel, Sam, so he finds a suitable alternative in a recently widowed man named Nick.

Lucifer is able to see into Nick’s very being, persuading him to agree to be his vessel. As an archangel, the devil must have consent before taking someone over- which he does in the end. He claims to both Sam and his new vessel that he does not lie, simply because he doesn’t need to. On occasion, though, he is known to mislead, more so to gain trust than to actually lie- but sometimes it seems that he bends this rule when it is beneficial to him. He relates himself to Sam and Nick, claiming that they are all victims. Lucifer sees himself as a tragic figure, cast out of Heaven because he loved God too much. He fails to see blame in anything he has done, even stating that ‘God wanted the Devil’, making him so he would rebel against him.

Despite how it seems, Lucifer does care for his brothers and sisters, though it is the Archangels he has strongest feelings toward. When he captured Castiel, beseeching him to join with him in rebellion, Castiel denied him- a decision Lucifer respected, though he was filled with disappointment. He is regretful when he kills Gabriel, because there was no need for him to die. Yet, he shows no remorse when killing those who are in his way, even going about it maliciously, uncaring of how many he had slain despite having no true reason to kill them.

As one of the most powerful beings to exist, it takes a lot to contain his form, and without his true vessel, any body he possesses starts to decay under his immense power. He is incredibly powerful and only three known beings are said to be stronger- Michael, Death, and God, though it is foretold that the fight against his brother is undecided, hinting that he can hold his own against him. Objects do not seem to harm him save for an archangel blade. Because he is a demon, people assume that he burns hot like fire, though it is shown that he burns cold instead, breathing ice onto a window. Lucifer is proficient in telekinesis, spell casting, torture, and precognition; all of which he has shown on a regular basis.

First Person: [He’s falling, the sensation is reminiscent of ages ago when he was cast out from Heaven. The warm air brushing his face as he falls back into that damnable Cage when suddenly he feels like he’s floating and everything has gone dark. He finally lands bodily, his head hitting the carpet.

…Hold on. He’s certain that the Cage does not have carpeting, crappy carpeting at that. He chances a look and is met with a ceiling and the sound of wheels on a track. Had he teleported somehow without realizing it? No, that’s not a possibility. But whatever the case, here he is- on a train with no idea where he’s headed. Getting up, he looks out the window and there is nothing but rolling, flat plains and he’s mildly amused.

Humming ‘Hellbound Train’ under his breath, he explores the empty train car and soon it rolls to a stop at a very abandoned-looking station. The door opens and with a shrug, he steps off the train and onto the cobblestone. No use sitting about when there’s new territory to explore. His eye catches a few posters and he looks over them curiously. Ruby City He’s certainly never been here before.

Below that were a few lines of instruction, one of them mentioning a watch. He checked his pockets, and indeed he did pull one out of his back pocket, the front of it warped as if melted. A smirk played at his lips as he examined the thing and opened it, accidentally hitting the video function.]

Someone certainly has a sense of humor, don’t they?

Third Person: When he had learned of his Father’s new creation, he had been skeptical- there was so much faith put into these..humans, and Lucifer didn’t understand it in the slightest. But when God said that they were to be placed in higher reverence than Himself and they were expected to bow to some brutal, imperfect mortals, his skepticism had turned to crushing disbelief. He’d been the favorite for so long, told how beautiful and how perfect he was, and now all of that was for naught.

The disbelief slowly turned to insolence and rage, showing its ugly, sinful head when he challenged God’s word. The very thought of bowing to something so imperfect made Lucifer’s stomach churn. Now in His presence, the archangel on his knees, he made his stance known.
“Father..I can’t! These human beings are flawed- murderous! How can you ask us to love them more than you? I love you—Have loved you for so long, I can’t be expected to just change that! I will NOT.”

Oh, he should have known to not talk to their Creator so.. his judgment could come far too harshly and with little room for forgiveness. And so it had, right then and there as he was stripped of everything he’d ever had. The bright golden hair upon his head withering between his fingers, dull and ashen; his robes made from the purest and most fine materials burning to ash, licking his pale skin painfully as a constant reminder. His wings, with their brilliant feathers of gold and light tarnishing around him in a gust of his Father’s fury. And then he fell. He had never known anything could hurt as badly as the betrayal that surged through his chest. Cast into Hell, burning and alone, he screamed and cried- cursing his Father.

He’d been stuck with his thoughts for so long with no one to give him a reply- all he had was himself. FINE. If that was how Daddy was going to play it, he would prove just how murderous his little apes were and that he was wrong to cast him out and steal his beauty. He would show everyone that God had wanted the Devil..
